Festival Events 2013
Creative In Strontian Event Success!
Creative in Strontian, the first Highland event this year, was a fantastic success! Held on Friday 27th and Saturday 28th of September, the event combined music, film, workshop, exhibition, food and much more.
Chris Evans, representing HUG (Action for Mental Health) as part of the festival team, reported there was much to celebrate, “We had more than 40 at our music night on Friday - a great atmosphere with closing rendition of Auld Lang Syne (both versions!)”
“Saturday saw a turn out of between 50 and 100 people, ranging in age from 8 to 80. The weather was brilliant - hot and sunny! I know that put off a few people from coming to the film as they took a good opportunity to garden and probably have a final BBQ! You can't win!”
Other feedback has come in from HUG who brought members from Inverness along to help run events and join in with the festivities. Members were so happy they have already posted these comments on their facebook page along with photographs (reproduced here with permission).
“Thanks so, so much to Chris from HUG and all at Ewans Room and elsewhere who made this rural festival fantastic”
"What a fantastic weekend had such a amazing weekend and I managed to do my first ever creative writing group; thank you to everyone for being so welcoming."
